Wasserpumpen für die Bewässerung in der Landwirtschaft. Die Pumpen können elektrisch oder mit Dieselmotor angetrieben werden

Custom-made water pumps, open mounted on solid steel base frame, for agricultural irrigation. The pump units are specially designed for continuous operation in the extreme hot conditions in Africa.

The complete project consists of 8 pump units with a totally pump capacity of approx. 33.000 m³ of water per hour. That quantity of water is enough to irrigate permanently approx. 5.000 ha. of sugar cane fields. Delivery including valves on the discharge site of the pumps.

The HK pump types are single-stage mixed-flow centrifugal pumps for lifting large quantities of water to medium heads. The pump is suitable for heavily contaminated and unpurified water.

The pump types HK are not self-priming, but by using the Van Heck priming system and non-return valve, the pump is getting self-priming.

Connections: suction side 900 mm / discharge side 700 mm

The pump casing is a solid circular casing with a tangential discharge nozzle with a diameter of 700 mm. It can be turned 360 degrees in discrete steps. The pump casing is supported by a cast iron bearing block with 4 integrally casted feet.

The shaft seal is a gland packing with grease lubrication. A stainless steel sleeve in the seal area protects the shaft.

RAC-Germany does successfully cooperate with Van Heck in the field of agricultural irrigation projects.
The company Van Heck in the Netherland has established a strong market position and earned a particularly good name in the sector of water pumping. RAC-Germany does closely and successfully cooperate with Van Heck (high capacity water pumps) and CATERPILLAR (reliable industrial diesel engines) in the field of agricultural irrigation projects.
Before shipping each water pump unit will be substantial tested on the Van Heck testing facilities.

The test equipment and instrumentation:
• Annubar (measuring instrument) inserted in test pipe.
• Eagle eye analogue display (in combination with Annubar), mounted in/on a panel with other essential meters e.g. Pressure and vacuum meters.
• Georg Fischer Signet 2552 Magmeter digital measuring instrument inserted into the test pipe with digital read out.
• Pipe with varying diameters (from Ø200mm too Ø900mm). Each with a butterfly valve to isolate the unused pipes during testing.
• Diameter 900 mm gate valve to reduce/increase the pressure (resistance) in the test pipe.
• Non return valve (essential for vacuum system)
• Huge water basin

Our customers are invited to join the test run, to get direct contact with our technicians and engineers and to discuss special technical issues and questions.

What will be tested:
The static head is measured, calculated and registered on the test sheet. The gate valve is positioned so that the resistance pressure in the pipe falls within the normal operating area of the chosen pump. Then:
• The pressure in the discharge pipe is noted.
• The vacuum pressure is noted (suction pipe).
• The pressure difference is noted (from Annubar).
• The flow registered by Signet digital meter is noted.
• The fuel consumption and load factor are noted. This information is available via the engine management system.*

The pressure difference can then be converted to a flow by using the capacity chart for the corresponding pipe diameter.
All recorded pressures are then added up and plotted on a graph against the flow read to give a preliminary indication during the test.
The gate valve is then closed slightly further to increase the resistance in the pipe and the procedure written above is repeated. This process is repeated in steps until a complete curve can be plotted.
The test can be furthered with a duration test. The gate valve can be closed to obtain the maximum work point of the engine and the pump can be left to run for a specific time. This test is primarily an engine test. Engine properties can be read from the engine management system.
* Gearbox/Pump speed and temperature can also be monitored.
After these test are completed the pump curve is plotted digitally. Each pump will receive its own test curve plotted on top of the standard curve.

The Van Heck water pump model HK 700 is rated for 5750 cbm/hour permanent capacity. During the test runs the pump for several hours with capacity of 5954 m³/h. as the above picture shows.
Eight (8) units diesel engine driven high capacity water pumps are ready for containerization and shipping.
Eight (8) units diesel engine driven high capacity water pumps are ready for containerisation, shipping to the final destination and supplying water for the irrigation of cane sugar fields.
Containerisation of the water pump units is part of our mission.
Our job in that irrigation project did start with the determination of the requirements on the plantation in East Africa, after that the project planning needed to be executed and we took contact with the manufacturer and supervised the production until the test run. Last not least part of our job was containerization of the water pump units.
The very heavy water pump units can not at all move inside the container.
That is what we call safe packing: The very heavy water pump units can not at all move inside the container during the long journey to the final destination in a very remote area in Africa.
Finally the job is done. View inside the 40 feet container just before shipping.
